Coffee House tradition

The coffee house is a speciality of the Austrian culture. We have preserved this original charm of the old Viennese Coffee Houses in our cafes. What makes the cafe so legendary and the visit so incomparable? It has always been known as a place for intellectual, cultural and social exchange and has been seen as an extension to one’s living room, for others even the nicest work place. Writers, artists, scientists and politicians have had their regular haunts which they considered their perferred living and working environment. During the Biedermeier period the coffee house became a connotation for „quality of living“ in the whole of Europe.

The cafe has preserved this unique atmopshere up to today: you do not only have a coffee and enjoy delicacies, but you also come along to read the newspaper, have a chat or game or to relax and have some time on your own. Even today the cafe serves the needs of people of all ages, it is an institution, a quality connotation – a place to meet, to enjoy, to relax, to spend time in a comfortable atmosphere.
